One of my favorite things about old mercantile shops is that even the simplest objects were beautifully made.
Wooden thread spools, paper labels, handwritten inventory tags, feed sacks, button cards, price tags, and ledger books weren't designed to become collectibles—they were simply part of everyday life. Today, those same pieces bring warmth, authenticity, and character to our handmade journals.
Sometimes it's the smallest detail—a worn price tag or a faded merchant label—that gives a page its personality.
